Britney Spears’ husband, fitness trainer Sam Asgari, commented on the incident with his wife, who was punched in the face by a security guard of basketball player Victor Vembanyama.
“I am against violence in any form. Especially against those who can’t defend themselves,” Asgari wrote on Instagram. – Yes, self-defense is sometimes unavoidable. But the fact that you have to protect every woman, especially my wife, is beyond question. I consider my reaction restrained, considering exactly what happened, and I hope the man in question learns his lesson and changes his dismissive attitude toward women. Thank you for your support.”
As a reminder, it all happened in Las Vegas. Britney Spears saw Vembanyama and wanted to take a picture with him, walked up behind him and put her hand on his shoulder because there was a lot of noise around and she wanted to get his attention. The security guard reacted instantly and hit her with the back of his hand on the face, causing her to fall to the ground. At that moment, Britney Spears had her own security guards and husband Sam Asgari by her side.
The media reported that after the security guard apologized to the singer and said that she herself must understand what it means to be surrounded by fans all the time. Britney herself wrote on Instagram* that she is still waiting for a public apology from the basketball player and his security guard, which no one has given her yet. She also stated that her security never attacked anyone, despite being surrounded by fans for decades: “I’m surrounded by people all the time. That night I was surrounded by a group of at least 20 fans. My security didn’t hit any of them.”
Vembanyama himself said that the reaction from security was that Spears came up behind him and clapped him on the shoulder, and he didn’t recognize Britney.
